Akela Jaffi is a writer and dancer living in Portland, OR. A graduate of Jefferson High school, she is the founder of Black Artists Summer Showcase. Dance has been her method of expression and healing, and her greatest contribution to the Portland art world. She is grateful for her role in building community, and the dedication of others seeking equality and change.
