What is PICA doing to address COVID-19?

PICA continues to adapt its rules to meet up-to-date CDC, state, and local guidance for COVID-19. To maintain safer spaces for arts workers, artists, and other community members, PICA has the following policies in place:

• All guests ages two years and up are required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. We also recommend that you wear a mask while outdoors at a TBA:21 event, especially if keeping a distance of six feet is not possible.
• Our indoor capacities are limited to 50% or less to enable distancing in our spaces.
• For the festival’s live, in-person programs taking place at PICA, we require either proof of a full course of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken in the prior 48 hours. Please note this policy only applies to the performances by Emily Johnson, rise x fall, and Hannah Krafcik & Emily Jones, which are scheduled at 7 pm each weekend of TBA. However, if any outdoor performances or programs must be relocated indoors due to inclement weather, these events will also require proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test as described below. 

What forms of proof are accepted for entry?

Proof of vaccination may include your actual, physical card or a digital photo of your vaccination card (completed at least 14 days prior) with a matching photo ID.

Proof of a negative test may be a printed or digital test result obtained from a testing site/service that lists your name, which we can match with a photo ID. We will not accept an image of an at-home test that cannot be verified. 

How and where do I provide my proof?

TBA Festival staff will be on hand to check your forms of proof at the check-in desk before each scheduled indoor performance. Doors open one (1) hour before showtime. We strongly recommend arriving early to ensure that we can get everyone into the space and start the show on time. 

What if I am not vaccinated or cannot receive the vaccine?

We understand some community members may not be vaccinated for a number of reasons. If this is the case for you, please provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (taken within the past 48 hours) to attend the festival’s indoor live performances.

Where can I get a COVID-19 test?

PICA is partnering with Curative to provide free, public testing on-site during the festival, Sept. 15 through Oct. 3, Tuesday through Saturday, 1pm-7pm. The Curative testing team will have a pop-up tent in front of PICA’s building at 15 NE Hancock. Rapid antigen and PCR tests are available for walk-ups and by appointment.

What if I lost my vaccination card?

You can request a copy of your vaccination record through Oregon Health Authority here.

What if I’m waiting on a test result and/or experiencing symptoms?

If you are experiencing or exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, have been in contact with others who are, and/or are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test as a result of possible exposure, we ask that you please stay home and follow CDC guidelines for quarantine/isolation in cases of exposure/illness. 

Are there other ways to experience TBA if I can’t provide proof or don’t feel comfortable experiencing programs indoors? 

Yes! This year’s TBA Festival has multiple ways to engage with artistic programs. Some projects can only be experienced online (some projects are live broadcasts and others are video on demand), some are outdoors and would allow you to maintain your personal space, and one project is sent to you via physical mail! Please explore the TBA Festival catalog or website for the variety of ways you can participate in the festival.
