It's been fifteen months since No More Freeways rainy evening rally outside the ODOT headquarters building downtown. No More Freeways is actively working with community partners including the Harriet Tubman community and Sunrise PDX about hosting an event in the evening of Friday, April 9. This event will be held outdoors, and we will be requiring masks for folks to attend our event and practicing social distancing. Independent Curators International (ICI) Curatorial Research Fellowship Call for Applications
DEADLINE: April 16, 2021
ICI’s Curatorial Research Fellowships focus on promoting experimentation, collaboration, and international engagement in the field. They support early-to-mid career curators to advance their practice and develop new knowledge in contemporary art, through research, travel, and the development of professional networks.The fellowship duration is four to six months, between May and December 2021. Fellows may be based anywhere and will receive regular mentorship sessions virtually. Each fellow will receive an award of $10,000.
Eligibility: As part of the Marian Goodman Gallery Initiative in honor of the late Okwui Enwezor, these Fellowships are available exclusively to BIPOC curators based in the US and curators of African descent based anywhere in the world. Early-to-mid-career curators (5+ years of experience working with contemporary artists), independent or with institutional affiliations, may apply.

Stevens-Crawford Heritage House Museum Artist-in-Residence Call For Artists

In collaboration with the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House, Art in Oregon has developed a unique Artist Residency Program open to all Oregon artists who have lived in Oregon for at least one year prior to submitting an application to this program. Selected artists are granted one month in a private 11’x9’ studio room on the second floor in the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House. The studio is located in the historic McLoughlin neighborhood in Oregon City, near the public library and community center. The studio is available to the resident artist 24 hours a day and includes access to a kitchenette, a bathroom (no shower), and a large yard, among other amenities. Pending COVID-19 restrictions, artists will conclude their residency with a public group exhibition at the Museum of the Oregon Territory in Oregon City.
Artist Relief, $5,000 grants to artists

To support artists during the COVID-19 crisis, a coalition of national arts grantmakers have come together to create an emergency initiative to offer financial and informational resources to artists across the United States.
Artist Relief will distribute $5,000 grants to artists facing dire financial emergencies due to COVID-19; serve as an ongoing informational resource; and work with the COVID-19 Impact Survey for Artists and Creative Workers, designed by Americans for the Arts, to better identify and address the needs of artists.
