PICA Announces TBA:25, the 22nd Time-Based Art Festival | September 4 – 14, 2025

"The artists in the 2025 Time-Based Art Festival have liberatory visions for our world—ones that acknowledge and rely upon our interconnectedness. In the most basic sense, TBA is about time. It’s about the time we spend together. At PICA, our time is dedicated to artists, and we are thrilled to share TBA with you."

— Erin Boberg Doughton, Artistic Director & Curator of Performance and Kristan Kennedy, Artistic Director & Curator of Visual Art

PICA's beloved Time-Based Art Festival is back, and the 2025 Festival marks a special milestone: PICA’s 30th year! For ten days in September, TBA:25 will feature a succession of projects from 28 renowned artists working on the West Coast and beyond.

TBA:25 opens with a First Thursday performance and activation of Angelo Scott’s Omni Rail at PNCA, followed by an intimate Opening Night Dinner held at PICA (limited tickets available). Among the programs during the first weekend is the West Coast Premiere of San Cha’s experimental opera Inebria metaking place for two nights only at the Winningstad Theatre. From existential dance odysseys performance-lectures, multimodal poetry to droning soundscapes, TBA:25 truly has something for everyone.
