TBA:06 THE WORKS
31 KNOTS
“31 Knots forgo dense polyrhythms and obfuscating distortion to create progressive pop that is at once erudite, precise, melodic, and even catchy, something that’s often missing from a style of music that strives to astound more than to entertain. 31 Knots create music that is immediate, penetratingly strange, and far too good to slip into oblivion. Don’t sleep.” —The Crutch
Punk meets Prog in this three-piece band made up of crooner Joe Haege, relentless drummer Jay Pellicci and maniacal bassist Jay Winebrenner. This trifecta of talent has been churning out intelligent yet aggressive pop songs for nearly a decade. Melodic and crowded with rhythm their music breaks down and kicks out as it builds up.
Formed in 1997, 31 Knots moved to Portland where they began playing shows as well as writing and recording. The band has played shows with Enon, Liars, Deerhoof, and most recently toured with Q and Not U in Japan winning fans over at a sold out show in Tokyo.
