TBA:19 Late Night
NOCHE LIBRE is a radical Latinx DJ collective of women creating space for Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities. We spin music that spans genres and geography from cumbia and quebradita to dancehall and perreo. We celebrate our family’s roots and rituals by carrying on the tradition of puro pinche pair.
ARTISTS' BIOS
DJ Mami Miami, AKA Chicana writer Emilly Prado, dreams of nights spent, hips swaying, in international multi-story discotecas. These days, she gets dance floors moving in Portland, Oregon and beyond as one-part of Noche Libre, the Latinx DJ collective she co-founded in 2017. As the former co-host of a hybrid talk/music show on XRAY FM, DJ Mami Miami selected a wide variety of genres from Andean cumbias and hip-hop to 1960s oldies, 80’s new wave, and Puerto Rican punk rock. Her sets are always mood-driven, but she specializes in spinning jams pa’ perreando. She still doesn’t have a Soundcloud, and probably never will. Learn more about her at www.emillyprado.com or on Instagram @emillyp.

Her selections come from years of traveling, collecting and sharing music from various regions of Latin America that explore Indigenous memory and African roots while incorporating contemporary electronic beats.

Dez Ramirez aka DJ La Cósmica is a writer, artist and DJ that’s been in and out of the Los Angeles and Portland music scene for the last decade. Influenced by the Southern California Chicanx culture she grew up in, her eclectic sets are shaped by the sounds of lowrider oldies, disco, electronic, funk, new wave, post punk, rock en espanol, reggae, hip hop, and rock & roll. The daughter of L.A. disco dancers, La Cósmica’s sets often pay homage to her parents, Latin discotecas, and the eccentric, glam club scene of the 1970s and 80s.
