Panther’s music is a hard match of damaged soul, falsetto disco and broken synth fueled freak-outs. Addictive as it is challenging, this solo affair of Charlie Salas-Humara, guitarist and singer of The Planet The, isn’t easy to ignore. His unpredictable and energetic solo performances are tainted with throbbing bass, minimalist hooks and jittery dance routines. He manages to polarize audiences thoroughly between the immediate super-fans and the uncomfortable passive listeners. His dance floor is filled with antics from charging across the bar top, blowing the PA while doing an acapella set, humping the floor for several minutes and better yet, not bringing a band to the rock clubs.
