The Who Cares Clock (T.W.C.C.) 

DESCRIPTION

“The Who Cares Clock” is a time-based print project released at random over an undetermined amount of time and available only through the mail. For our second edition, Eileen Isagon Skyers looks at both the spring equinox and summer solstice as original sites for universal human imagination, embedding them with historical reference points, dualities, and personal reflections. In spite of—or perhaps in service to—the reaches of globalization, may we look to the cyclicality of seasons to locate our potential (re)emergence. 

A “Who Cares?” clock is often gifted on the occasion of retirement, or to mark the “end of work.” What does it mean to give up, forget, or ignore linear time, and to acknowledge natural, personal, or abstract time? Are we in end times, or are we just beginning? The clock asks us a sincere question.

“The Who Cares Clock” is conceived of and edited by Kristan Kennedy. This issue was designed by Stephen Lurvey. 

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Eileen Isagon Skyers is an artist, writer, and curator, her first book, Vanishing Acts, was published by LINK Editions (Brescia, Italy) in 2015, and her writing has been published in the New Museum Catalogue Trigger: Gender as a Tool and Weapon, NATASHA, Wreath, Glass Press of the Future, Web Safe 2k16, Printed Web, and New World UNLTD, among others.
