About the Exhibition
Trisha Baga (New York, NY) is a leading figure in video installation known for poetic, "digital-physical" environments that mirror the complex chaos of the internet age. For the 2026 Converge 45 Triennial, Baga presents MORE, a monumental immersive installation at PICA that weaves together the rise of consumer AI and the artist’s own journey into parenthood. Utilizing 3D video and sculptural scenography, Baga explores the ways in which technological systems mirror and distort human desire. By focusing on "more"—a foundational word in a child’s vocabulary—the work juxtaposes the extractive logic of tech development with the primal, innocent impulse to nurture something that never stops asking.
About Here, To you, Now
Curated by Lumi Tan, the 2026 Converge 45 triennial Here, To you, Now centers on experiences that bring people together—here and now—while celebrating the meaningful temporary communities that form around art. Inspired by the writing of Portland literary icon Ursula K. Le Guin, the triennial features 28 artists and 17 new commissions that activate the city as a shared stage for discovery, dialogue, and connection.
Here, To you, Now opens across 16 venues citywide with a weekend of receptions, performances, screenings, and talks August 27–30, 2026. All exhibitions remain open through October 3, 2026, closing after that on a staggered schedule into mid-December.
About the Artist
Trisha Baga (b. 1985, Venice, FL) lives and works in New York, NY. Baga will be part of Here, To you, Now, the 2026 Converge 45 Triennial in Portland and received the USA Fellowship Award in 2024. Baga’s work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Pirelli HangarBicocca, Milan; CCC, Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts, Harvard College, Cambridge; Zabludowicz Collection, London; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. Their immersive large-scale painting installation BODY CLOCK was exhibited at Art Basel Unlimited in 2021. That same year, their video installation HOPE illuminated the façade of Kassel’s Fridericianum on the United States election day. Baga's work was included in the exhibition HOPE at Museion, Bolzano curated by Bart van der Heide and Leonie Radine and The Irreplaceable Human at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebaek. They have also participated in group exhibitions at Tanoto Art Foundation, Singapore; ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, Aarhus; Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna; Biennale für aktuelle Fotografie, Ludwigshafen am Rhein; PS1, New York; Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva; European Biennial of Contemporary Art, Zurich; and Julia Stoschek Foundation at ZKM, Düsseldorf, among many other venues.
Baga is part of a number of public collections including Aïshti Foundation, Beirut; Astrup Fearnley Museum, Oslo; Julia Stoschek Foundation, Düsseldorf; Moderna Museet, Stockholm; Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt; Museum Ludwig, Cologne; Museum Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; Whitney Museum, New York; among others.
About the Curator
Lumi Tan is an independent curator and writer based in New York City, specializing in interdisciplinary exhibitions and performances. She has been curator of the Focus section at Frieze New York since 2024 and previously served as Senior Curator at The Kitchen, New York. Recent curatorial projects include exhibitions at Performance Space New York; DOOSAN Gallery, Seoul; and Luna Luna, Los Angeles and New York. Her exhibitions, writing, awards and teaching have spanned institutions and publications internationally.
About Converge 45
Founded in 2016, Converge 45 is a Portland-based nonprofit that strengthens the region’s arts ecosystem through ambitious, collaborative contemporary art programs that are free and open to the public. The organization’s signature initiative is a guest-curated, citywide triennial presented across art institutions, unconventional venues, and public spaces, connecting local audiences to global art and ideas and ensuring that the entire region benefits from international artistic exchange.
